Introducing Xi Mengyao Ming Xi from China from the Elite Model's Look World Competition

Ming Xi Xi Mengyao (a.k.a. Barbie -- is there a WORST western name for a Chinese girl?) from China was one of the finalists at the recent Elite Model's Look World competition. She didn't win -- Julia Saner from Switzerland did -- but her show card appeared on Models.com, which is a good thing. It will be interesting to see if she makes it in the international scene.

Elite Model's Look World competition is definitely NOT in the same realm as Ford Model's Supermodel of the World in terms of generating attention and creating top models. However, I think Stefanie Seymour and Linda Evangelista started out as Elite Model's Look finalists in the early 1980s.

Made You Look: Scarf Face Blog Event

Mattie from Mattieologie came out with a new blog event called Made You Look. In the post you are to style a particular clothing item three ways with the same outfit. Giving ideas on ways to extend your wardrobe. I think this is such a wonderful and creative idea because not everyone can afford to buy new clothes all the time!

Here is how I would style a scarf three different ways with the same outfit!:

A scarf three ways

Outfit on the left: This is the most traditional way. Wear it around your neck in multitude of ways!

Outfit in the middle: Wear the scarf around your head in a cute 50s way.

Outfit on the right: Attach your scarf to your handbag to add some zing.

I paired jewelry on the left that you can wear with the same outfit but you can always change it up if you like. That's what makes accessories fun! Also I chose this outfit because this would be perfect for fall coming up! :)

And don't forget to check out the lovely Mattie at Mattieologie!

Crossing Sunset Lookbook from LuLu's

I am loving this jacket and the skirt is extra adorable!

This is a sexy look, perfect for date night in the fall.

This top is very bohemian chic and I could definitely see myself wearing it.

I love these boots and the fringe shorts are fierce! If only I had the hips/thighs to pull of the shorts (haha).

I adore this blazer! I want it!

Such a fierce rocker chic look. Of course I am smitten over those Jeffrey Campbell boots!

I am not a huge oxford shoe fan but I do like these ones. The hints of floral print is adorable.

LuLu's just introduced this lookbook today and I just had to share it. This is their pre fall collection. I am a little excited for fall, mostly for the fashion. I am not ready for it to get colder outside at all.

You can view and shop the lookbook, HERE.

Fashion Around the World Series: The Philippines and Taiwan

Street Fashion In Taiwan

Taiwan Fashion Week

This week's fashion around the world series is on The Philippines and Taiwan. The fashion in the Philippines and Taiwan is very trendy, colorful and unique. Everyone has their own style and every style is bright and tropical. I find the fashion much like the rest of Asia, that they are not afraid to take risks and to display their love for fashion. The designer Johan Ku in Taiwan is amazing. The designs are exquisite. To make clothing completely out of knit takes a lot of talent. I have never seen any other designs like it making it a one of a kind.
Tribal fashion in general fascinate me simply because of the time and effort they make to create the clothing and jewelry. The T'boli tribe is no exception. The designs are amazing!

Alexis Mabille Fall 2011 Couture

This dress is simply a knockout. The lace detailing is exquisite and so so chic.

The fur detailing adds a touch of glam to the sequined dress. This dress reminds me of something a 1940s Hollywood star would wear.

The shape of this dress is extraordinary. I have never seen anything like it!

I love how the model here wore a veil with the green dress. Reminds me of maybe what a Irish bride would wear centuries ago on her wedding day.

Rawr.....The feather detailing and animal print make this dress fierce and hot. You will definitely stand out and get some stares in this dress!

I love how simple this dress is and then there is touch of mesh fabric on the arms and a huge flower at the shoulder. Makes the design pop with interest.

The velvet detailing and studded arm detailing make this dress ultra luxe.

Can I say this dress is simply amazing? The feather detailing at the collar is gorgeous! Reminds me of a Hollywood Starlet.

Alexis Mabille's Fall 2011 Couture is simply amazing. Ever detail is exquisite and so unique. I have yet to find another collection like this one. This collection definitely screams couture.
